Reading is my passion!
My name is Marisa Grijalva and I have been at Dripping Springs Elementary (DSES) for three years. The 2015-2016 school year will be my fourth year at DSES and I am excited to embark on a new journey as the Reading Teacher for the campus.
This summer I began intensive graduate level training as a Basic Language Skills (BLS) Teacher. I am enrolled in a program with Rawson Saunders and while the course work this summer was enough to classify me as a Dyslexia Practitioner, my goal is to become a Certified Academic Language Therapist (CALT).
My main focus this school year will be on assisting students who have Dyslexia and supporting students who need additional help with reading on our campus. Furthermore, I will serve as a resource for teachers who need support and offer a different perspective from which to tackle reading instruction in the classroom.
